Oman Corner at the University of Melbourne

 

An Oman Corner, designed to educate University of Melbourne students and visitors about the life and culture of Oman, was launched in early August by the Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs and Settlement Services, Hon. Laurie Ferguson MP and Dr Abdullah al Sarmi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education in Oman. Funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, the Oman Corner is a permanent museum-style showcase intended to stimulate interest in Oman and increase academic collaboration.

National Multicultural Festival - Food and Dance Spectacular

The National Multicultural Festival – Food and Dance Spectacular took place on Saturday 9th February 2008 in Canberra and approximately 70,000 people attended the event. The theme of the Festival was 'Arabian Nights' and 190 stalls were positioned throughout Canberra City.
