HM confers Appreciation Order on Professor Anton McLachlan- His Majesty Sultan Qaboos has conferred the Order of Appreciation on Professor Anton McLachlan in recognition of his efforts in the higher education field and his role in strengthening relations between the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and other international universities, in addition to his contribution to research and publications on the Sultanate.
The order was presented to Professor McLachlan by His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers. HH Sayyid Fahd pointed out that the Royal gesture reflects the continuous care of His Majesty the Sultan to the educational march and his appreciation of all efforts being exerted in this field.
Professor McLachlan expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the Sultan for granting him “this great honour” which, he said, carries valuable meanings and will remain an incentive for future performance. He also thanked SQU officials for their co-operation in facilitating his mission. The ceremony was attended by Dr Rawya bint Saud al Busaidiya, Higher Education Minister and Chairperson of the SQU Council. — ONA
